Respawn Entertainment, under the umbrella of EA, announced two days ago Apex Legends, a new Battle Royale that comes to compete with Fortnite and PUBG and that seems to have been a success in its launch, accumulating more than one million players in its eight first hours of life.
The title is available for consoles and PCs through the Origin platform, although from EA they have confirmed that they are looking for a way to also take it to mobile operating systems.
It has been Andrew Wilson, CEO of EA, who broke the news during the presentation of financial results for the third quarter of 2018 in response to the question from Mike Hickey, an analyst at The Benchmark Company. This questioned about the long-term plans of the game, see the mobile market, Asian and the possibility of it becoming E-Sports, to which Wilson responded as follows:
“As I said before, we are analyzing how to bring the game to mobile and the cross game over time, and I also hope that this game has tremendous value in Asia, and we are in talks about it.”
According to Electronic Arts, the game was built from the ground up to operate as a “live service” that will have updates of content and possible changes in its formula and balance. The company also wants to explore ways to take the title to different paths, which should include betting in the eSports world and even the creation of a mobile version.
Those who want to download the game on PC must visit its official webpage on the Origin website, where they then click the orange button labeled ‘Get the Game.’
As for the two consoles, players must go to their respective system’s in-game store and type in ‘Apex Legends’ in the search bar, after which the game should appear and be available for download.
